"FIRST QUESTION YOU SHOULD ASK YOURSELF"

IF THEY ARE SO GOOD WHY ARE THEY SO CHEAP??????

Hiring the right entertainer for your event is probably the most important decision for the successful outcome of your event!

So how do you find the right DJ? Some people view DJ's as a commodity and choose the cheapest one they can find, not knowing there are differences to look for.

I've heard numerous horror stories of DJ companies that lure in customers with low prices, only to provide an inexperienced disc jockey with poor people skills, an inferior music library, shoddy equipment, and they either arrive late or don't show at all!

This page will help you find the right entertainer! It could make the difference between a memorable event and an unforgettable nightmare!

Do You Provide A Written Agreement?

It is very important to confirm your booking in writing. Terms should be clearly defined to avoid future problems.

Are You Insured?

Be confident that the DJ you hire will show up for your affair! Insurance will give security & protection to you and your guests, as well as the DJ and his expensive gear!

Do You Have Backup Equipment and DJ's?

Even professional audio equipment can fail on occasion, don't let this put an early end to your affair. Make sure there is backup equipment and be sure there is a back-up DJ should an emergency or case of illness occur.

Is Your Equipment of Professional Quality?

There is a difference between home audio and professional road-worthy equipment. The equipment a DJ uses should be built to go on the road each and every day!

Will You Listen To My Music Suggestions?

Many DJ's are of the opinion that they know what music is best for their audience and won't take requests. The DJ should listen to requests and play them whenever appropriate.

Will You Dress Appropriately at My Affair?

It is important that your entertainer look the part by dressing formal or semi-formal, according to your preference. Themed events and picnics require different attire.

Will You Play The Music At An Appropriate Level?

The biggest concern voiced by prospective clients is the volume level of the music. A professional DJ knows to keep the volume at a level appropriate for the guests, especially during cocktails and the dinner hour.

Do You Do More Than Just Play Music at the Affair?

Most affairs involve more than playing music. It is important to have a DJ who is capable of playing the music, handling all of the announcements and helps to coordinate the affair.

Will You Listen to My Concerns and Input?

A professional DJ is aware that they can't possibly know every aspect of music and entertainment. Your input and suggestions should be welcome!

Conclusion

It is important to find a DJ company that says yes to the above questions. Experience & quality are the most important factors in hiring your entertainment. You will never be sorry when you invest in quality. "GREAT ENTERTAINMENT ISN'T EXPENSIVE....IT'S PRICELESS"

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FROM BRIDES

Q: What's the order of events at a wedding reception? I am not exactly sure what the sequence should be, from our arrival to the bouquet toss. Please help!

A: Keep in mind that every wedding is different; couples must customize the traditional wedding agenda to fit the logistics of their day by consulting those providing services such as catering, music and transportation. Here's the basic sequence of events for most receptions in the New York area:

· Guests arrive, Cocktail Hour

· Introduction Parents & Wedding party

· Introduction Bride and Groom

· First dance

· Champagne Toasts and speeches

· Dinner orders taken

· Dancing

· Courses followed by Dinner

· Dancing

· Ceremonial cutting of cake

· Parent Dances

· Toss bouquet and garter

· Dancing

· Leave reception

Q: What are some various customs and their meanings, such as the money dance?

A: The money dance is traditional in several cultures, with many variations. In most cases, it's a dance where the male guests pay for the privilege of dancing with the bride. Generally, the dance is announced by the DJ ("This next dance is for the gentleman guests who would like to dance with the bride"), although there tends to be no mention of money since most of guests should be familiar with the custom. Each person gets just a few seconds to offer money and dance with the bride before another guest cuts in. If it is a cultural tradition of many of your soon-to-be relatives, they will be prepared and know what to do.

Here are some general variations of the money dance:

· At Ukrainian weddings, the father of the bride usually leads, pinning money on her dress, followed by ushers and other male guests.

· At Yugoslav weddings, male guests hand the dance money to the best man.

· At Hungarian weddings, the bride removes her shoes, placing them in the middle of the dance floor for each money-dance partner to deposit the money.

· At Portuguese weddings, the bride's shoe is passed around for the collection.

· At Greek weddings, sometimes the dance is with the bride, sometimes with the groom, and sometimes both, with money pinned on either party.

Q: What does the garter symbolize?

A: The garter-toss dates back to 14th-century France. Then, it was the bride herself who did the throwing, and what she threw wasn't her garter, but her stocking. Unfortunately, male guests often got very enthusiastic in "helping" her when she took it off, which is why this act has been refined to the degree it has. The male guest who catches the garter may be the next to marry. Many brides today are choosing to omit this ritual altogether.

All the planning is now behind you. Congratulations, it's time to unwind, put on your dancing shoes, forget all the stress, and get ready for the party you'll never forget.

Get ready for a warm welcome from your family and friends, as one of the Hollywood DJ's, Master of Ceremonies, introduces the two of you in a spectacular grand entrance you will remember for years to come. Announcing the grand entrance is one of the things the Hollywood MC party host enjoys doing the most.

For the next few hours it will be the job of your MC, DJ, and dancers to lead the festivities, play the music that is important to you and your guests, and co-ordinate all the fun. Reception guests seldom remember the food or even the cake, but they almost always remember the music and the entertainment.

The main reason to choose a DJ, is that the selection of music a DJ can play spans across all ages, ethnic backgrounds, and tastes.

The main reason families choose Hollywood DJ's is the four P's of the Perfect Party
